Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 11, 2026

FounderSelf ("FounderSelf," "we," "us") runs founderself.com. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site, take the quiz, join our email list or buy something from us, how we use it, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be read, not skimmed past.

The short version: we collect only what we need to run the site and send you what you asked for. We don't sell your personal information. Your quiz answers stay in your browser.

1. Information you give us

  • Email sign-ups. When you request the 10 Patterns Cheat Sheet or join our list, we collect your email address and any name you provide.

  • Purchases. When you buy a Full Breakdown or another product, we collect your name, email, billing details and order history. Card payments are handled by our payment processors. We never see or store your full card number.

  • Member accounts. If you create an account to access members-only content, we collect your login email and account details.

  • Messages. If you email us or fill out a form, we collect what you send.

2. Your quiz answers

The FounderSelf quiz runs in your web browser. Your individual answers are used to calculate your results on your device and are not sent to or stored on our servers. If you then buy a Full Breakdown, we receive your order details, including which report you purchased, so we can deliver it.

3. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we and our service providers automatically collect some technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring site and approximate location (city or region level). We use cookies and similar technologies to do this. See "Cookies and analytics" below.

4. How we use your information

  • To deliver what you asked for, such as the cheat sheet, your purchase or member content

  • To send our emails, if you've signed up. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

  • To process payments, prevent fraud and keep records required by law

  • To answer your questions and provide support

  • To understand how the site is used and improve it

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

5. Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that help us run FounderSelf, and only as needed for them to do that work:

  • Squarespace, which hosts our website, store, member areas, forms and email campaigns

  • Payment processors such as Stripe or PayPal, which handle card and payment details

  • Google Analytics, which helps us understand site traffic

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business. In that case, this policy would continue to apply to your information.

6. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies that are needed for the site to work (for example, your cart and login) and analytics cookies that tell us how visitors use the site. Google Analytics collects information about your visit and reports it to us in aggregate. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.

7. Educational content, not therapy

FounderSelf offers educational content about patterns in how founders lead and work. It is not therapy, counseling or medical advice, and using the site, quiz or products does not create a therapist–client relationship. We don't ask for health information. Please don't send us sensitive health details through our forms or email.

8. How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as you're on our email list, have an account or need support for a purchase, and as long as needed to meet legal, tax and accounting requirements. When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous.

9. Your choices and rights

  • Unsubscribe from emails at any time with the link at the bottom of any email.

  • Access, correct or delete. You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it.

  • Additional rights. Depending on where you live (for example, California, other U.S. states, the UK or the EU), you may have more rights, such as the right to object to or restrict certain processing, to data portability, or to opt out of targeted advertising. We will honor these requests as the law requires and won't treat you differently for using them.

To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before we act on it.

10. Security

We use reasonable safeguards, and we rely on established providers to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

11. International visitors

FounderSelf is based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the U.S. and other countries. By using the site, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those countries.

12. Children

FounderSelf is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the effective date above, and for significant changes, we'll let subscribers know by email.
